Youth Curling

Our Youth Curling Program offers a fun and inclusive environment for young curlers to learn the sport, build skills, and enjoy team play. Whether your child is brand new to curling or returning to improve their game, we have a group for every age and experience level.

Age Categories (as of December 31 of the current year):

  • Under 9 (Ages 6–8): Sunday | 10:15 AM – 11:00 AM
Draw Masters: Kim Murphy & Tara McDonald
  • Under 12 (Ages 9–11): Sunday | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
    Draw Masters: Evelyn Priddle
  • Under 18 (Ages 12–end of high school): Sunday | 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM
Draw Masters: Melanie Bourque & Jen Ferris

Program Details:

  • Instruction is provided by experienced coaches and volunteers
  • Emphasis on safety, skill development, teamwork, and fun
  • A mix of instruction, practice, and gameplay throughout the season

Safety Requirements:

  • All curlers under the age of 12 are required to wear approved head protection (e.g., a CSA-approved helmet) during on-ice activities.
  • Youth Under 18 who are new to curling are strongly recommended to wear approved head protection as well.
  • Clean indoor shoes must be worn on the ice. No street shoes or boots are allowed. Shoes should have rubber soles only — no plastic bottoms, as they may cause slipping.

Required Acknowledgements (on registration form):

  • ✅ Volunteer Option: “I would like to volunteer on the ice to help the instructors.”
  • ✅ Rowan’s Law: “I have reviewed concussion awareness materials within the last 12 months and agree to our Concussion Code of Conduct as per Rowan’s Law.”
  • ✅ Media Release: “I have read and signed the media release waiver.”

Note: Groupings may be flexible based on enrollment numbers and the skill level of individual curlers. League play will pause for the holiday season from December 21, 2025, to January 3, 2026. Games will resume after this break.
