At Grimsby Curling Club, we offer an array of curling leagues tailored to curlers of all levels and preferences. Whether you're an early riser or a night owl, a seasoned pro or just starting your curling journey, we have a league that's perfect for you. Check out what we have to offer.

 

Monday Men's Tumbleweed 

  • Mondays | 9:00 AM (150-minute game)

    Draw Master: Jim Heywood

    The Monday Tumbleweed League is a relaxed, recreational men’s league that welcomes curlers of all skill levels. Teams are formed the morning of play, with each curler rotating through all four positions, playing two ends in each. A mid-game coffee break after four ends keeps things friendly and social.

    This league runs for the full season with no playoffs, no prizes—just fun, camaraderie, and great curling. It’s a perfect way to stay active, meet fellow curlers, and enjoy the game in a casual, welcoming atmosphere.

    If you’re looking for great ice time and even better company, Monday Tumbleweed is for you!

Monday Women's Day League

Mondays | 12:00 PM (120-minute game)

Draw Masters: Connie Marshall, Brenda King, Debbie Holland, Colleen Conway

The Women’s Day League is a welcoming, social league with a touch of friendly competition. Open to all skill levels, this league is perfect for those looking to enjoy the game, meet new people, and continue developing their curling skills.

Teams are rotated each draw to keep things fresh and inclusive, with three draws per season. While there are no playoffs or prizes, every game is scored, and the top three individual point-getters are recognized at the league’s closing meeting.

It’s a great way to stay active, connect with others, and have fun on the ice in a relaxed and supportive environment.

    The Monday Night Men’s League is a semi-competitive yet welcoming league open to curlers of all skill levels. Players sign up individually, and teams are created by the draw masters to ensure a fun and balanced experience. Teams are reshuffled every draw to keep things fresh and inclusive.

    The season includes three draws each season. While there are no formal playoffs or prizes (unless a special donation is made), the season concludes with a Hot Shots competition to celebrate the league’s fun and friendly spirit.

    A perfect blend of camaraderie, competition, and quality curling.

Monday Night - Curl with your Crew (BYOT)

Mondays | Weekly Alternating Times 6:30 PM or 9:00 PM  (120-minute game)

Grab your friends and hit the ice! Curl With Your Crew is a fun, social league designed for anyone looking to enjoy a great night of curling together. There are no restrictions on team mix, so build your team your way.

Don't have a full team? No problem! Register as a team, pair or individual, and we'll do our best to match you with others to complete a team.

Games alternate weekly between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM draw times, giving everyone an equal mix of early and late games throughout the season.

Whether you're in it for the friendly competition, the laughs or just an excuse to get together on a Monday night, this league is all about having fun on and off the ice.

Tuesday Day BYOT (Bring Your Own Team) League

  • Tuesdays | 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:30 PM (120-minute game)

    Draw Masters: Kathy Micucci & John Spackman

    The Tuesday BYOT League is an open daytime league for curlers seeking friendly yet competitive play. Teams are fixed and must register together. While the league leans toward a competitive skill level, the emphasis remains on fun, sportsmanship, and enjoyment.

    The format includes three flights, with team movement (promotion or delegation) between flights after each draw to keep things dynamic. The season includes two draws each season, followed by playoffs.

    There are no prizes—just great curling and camaraderie.

Wednesday Morning Competitive Doubles 

  • Wednesdays | 9:00 AM, 10:20 AM & 11:50 AM (70-minute game)

    Draw Masters: Mary Krysko & Jim Howden

    A competitive doubles league for fixed teams of two curlers who enjoy fast paced, strategic curling. Teams must register as a pair and should have some curling experience. For new or social curlers there is recreational doubles Wednesday afternoon.

    Play is Round Robin with a competitive playoff at the end of the season depending on win/loss record

Wednesday Afternoon Social Doubles

    Draw Masters: Mary Krysko & Jim Howden 

    The Wednesday Afternoon Doubles League welcomes curlers of all skill levels. Both fixed teams and individual sign-ups are encouraged—if you register solo, we’ll happily pair you with a partner. This league offers a supportive and fun environment to improve your curling skills.

    The season features 3 draws. There are no playoffs or prizes—just plenty of opportunities to play, learn, and enjoy doubles curling.

Tuesday/Wednesday Competitive Challenge

  • Tuesday 9:00 PM and Wednesday 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM (120-minute game)

    Looking for a high-energy, competitive curling experience? The Competitive Challenge League is the place to be!

    This open format league welcomes men’s, women’s, or mixed teams. Skips may enter teams with four or five players, offering flexibility for busy schedules. With games played on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM, and Tuesdays at 9:00 PM, there are plenty of opportunities to test your skills against strong competition.

  • NOTE : For the 2026/2027 Season, the league will be capped to 24 teams. Further changes will be implemented for the 2027/2028 Season; details will be provided at the beginning of this season.

    The league is divided into three draws over the season, with playoffs and prizes awarded to the top teams.

Thursday Morning Men's League

    Looking for a great way to kick off your mornings with competitive curling? The Thursday Morning Men’s League offers just that!

    This is a competitive individual-entry league. The season is divided into three draws, and teams are reselected for each draw by a group of designated skips, ensuring balanced play and variety throughout the season.

If you wish to be on the spare list only, please contact Bill Baker or info@grimsbycurling.ca. Depending on the number of registrations the league may have spill-over games Friday morning.

    The Thursday Night Men’s League is a fun, social, and recreational league open to curlers of all skill levels. Players register individually, and teams are reshuffled each draw to give everyone the opportunity to curl with different teammates and build new connections.

    The season includes 3 draws, with new teams formed at the start of each one to keep things fresh and engaging. Playoffs are held only if there’s an extra week available in the schedule.

    Prizes, generously provided by our sponsors, typically include LCBO and Tim Hortons gift cards.

    Thursday Night Triples League

  • Thursday | 9:00 PM (75-minute game)

    The Thursday Night Triples League is an open league for social and recreational curlers of all skill levels. Players can register as a team or individually—those signing up solo will be placed on a team. It’s a great format for developing all aspects of your curling game.

    In Triples curling, players rotate through the positions of Lead, Vice, and Skip during a fast-paced 6-end game played over 75 minutes. The format keeps everyone involved and learning.

    The season wraps up with playoffs, and the winning team takes home the league trophy. A fun, skill-building way to spend your Thursday nights!

Friday Afternoon Triples

Fridays | 2:30 PM (90-min games)

Draw Master: Carolyn Mullins

Kick off your weekend with a fast-paced game of curling! This fun and social league features a 6-end triples game played over 90 minutes, making it the perfect way to ease into the weekend.

In triples, every player gets a chance to do it all, rotating through the lead, vice and skip positions throughout the game. It's a great way to develop your skills, learn strategy and experience every role on the team.

Open to curlers of all skill levels, this recreational league is perfect whether you're new to the game or a seasoned curler looking for a relaxed Friday afternoon on the ice.

Friday Night Mixed Social

Fridays | 6:00 PM, 7:40 PM, or 9:30 PM (90-minute game) (rotating weekly)

Draw Master: Doug Mitchell and Sarah Sweeney

The Friday Night Mixed Social League is a relaxed, social, and recreational mixed league welcoming individuals or couples, including new curlers. It’s a great way to enjoy curling in a friendly and fun environment.

Games run for 90 minutes, with mixed teams set at the start of each draw. Couples are placed on different teams, in the same time slot, to encourage variety and socializing. Game times rotate weekly through three time slots: 6:00 PM, 7:40 PM, and 9:30 PM.

The season includes 3 draws. Depending on registration numbers, some teams may have byes during the draw.

An informal playoff takes place during the final draw, with prizes awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

It’s the perfect way to end your week with fun, friends, and curling!

Sunday Night Social League (Open) 

Sundays | 6:30 PM (90-minute game)

Draw Master: Steve Doherty

The Sunday Night Social League is a welcoming, open-format league for curlers of all skill levels. It’s especially ideal for new curlers looking to gain experience by playing alongside more seasoned players. Teams are formed prior to each game, with curlers rotating through positions to build their skills and confidence.

Depending on attendance, games may be played as traditional 4-person teams or as doubles. One draw is currently scheduled each Sunday, with the option to expand to a second draw if registration numbers increase.

This casual, friendly league runs for the full season with no formal sign-up required and no playoffs or prize awards—just great curling in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran, Sunday Night Social is a great way to stay in the game, meet new people, and enjoy curling in a laid-back atmosphere.

    • Ready to build your confidence and have some fun? Rookie League is designed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year curlers who want more time on the ice in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

      Enjoy real game experience without the pressure, often with a few experienced volunteers on the ice to offer tips, strategy and guidance whenever you want it. Add in great music, a fun social atmosphere and plenty of laughs, and you've got the perfect place to improve your game while making new friends.

      Games are played from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, making it an ideal way to get extra ice time, grow your skills and enjoy the game.

  • Youth Curling Programs 

    Our Youth Curling Program offers a fun and inclusive environment for young curlers to learn the sport, build skills, and enjoy team play. Whether your child is brand new to curling or returning to improve their game, we have a group for every age and experience level. Instruction is provided by experienced coaches and volunteers. Emphasis on safety, skill development, teamwork, and fun. A mix of instruction, practice, and game play throughout the season. 

    • All curlers under the age of 12 are required to wear approved head protection (e.g., a CSA-approved helmet) during on-ice activities. Youth Under 18 who are new to curling are strongly recommended to wear approved head protection as well. Clean indoor shoes must be worn on the ice. No street shoes or boots are allowed. Shoes should have rubber soles only — no plastic bottoms, as they may cause slipping.

Learn to Curl Program - See league page for dates and times

This 6-week instructional program is designed for individuals with no prior curling experience. Each session includes weekly on-ice instruction, guided lessons, and all necessary equipment (participants must bring clean indoor running shoes). Upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to join one of the Grimsby Curling Club’s friendly leagues at a reduced membership rate. This is an excellent introduction to the sport, the club, and its welcoming community.
